"The Light Show" is the eighty-seventh episode of Butterfly Valley (1969 series) and the ninth episode of the fourth season.

Synopsis

The Butterfly Fairies are celebrating the Light Festival, but Frank decided to raid Butterfly Valley to ruin the festival so he can kidnap Princess Butterfly. However, Moth and Worm, his henchmen, soon discover that Princess Butterfly and King Boogieman are their parents.

Plot

Everyone in Butterfly Valley is having a festival with fireworks and fireflies, known as the Light Festival. It is held once every 142 years to commemorate a legend about how light was brought to the valley.

However, Frank realizes that this would be the perfect time to attack the valley as everyone would be busy with the festival, so he can finally kidnap Princess Butterfly. He sends in Moth and Worm, his new henchmen, to do the job for him.

Buggle notices Moth and Worm and he forces them into a battle. They shoot beams of light towards each other, although they hit some decorations and food.

Princess Butterfly and King Boogieman, who are sitting together, witnessed what is happening and Butterfly recognizes them as their children.

Moth claims this can't be so, since she and Worm were raised by Frank after their parents had died, but King Boogieman explains that they were kidnapped by Frank, who also made their parents thought he had killed them.

Enraged, Moth and Worm rebel against Frank and completely ruin his plans, then they resume celebrating the Light Festival with their parents.
